Water flossers do help prevent and reverse gum disease, but you need to also continue to brush and floss your teeth at least two times a day. We’re going to be discussing what a water flosser is and how it helps your teeth.
What is a Water Flosser
A water flosser (also known as a water pick), is an oral water sprayer, that cleans your teeth by shooting a very thin line of water between your teeth and gum line. It will remove the leftover food particles and plaque that’s on and in between your teeth. Many dentists often recommend water flossers, such as Profloss, WaterPik, and Hydrofloss.
But it’s more of a personal preference. Once you have the right water flosser for you, it will need to be plugged into an outlet and will require a receptacle of water. So, it will not be portable like regular floss, but it is very easy to use and soft on your teeth.
The water flosser is not a substitute for regular flossing, just because you have it don’t mean that you need to stop flossing the other way. Flossing with dental floss, and flossing the correct way is the only for sure way to get rid of the plaque and food particles off your teeth, even though having the water flosser will still help out a lot.
Overall Result
When you use the water flosser correctly, it will be a wonderful addition to your daily dental routine. To tell you the truth, we’re not really sure how great water flossing is at promoting long-term dental health if used as a substitute for regular flossing, but what we do know is that using both a water flosser, regular flossing, and brushing twice a day, will make your teeth extremely happy, and not only your teeth it will make us happy.
